Bagley, MN — The Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds defeated the Bagley Flyers by a big deficit on Monday night in Bagley.
While the end deficit on the scoreboard was large, the beginning of the game didn’t start out the way Thunderbird Coach Zach Qual envisioned it. Not even one minute into the contest Coach Qual called a timeout to fire up his team after some sloppy play early by the Thunderbirds. Once Mahnomen/Waubun was able to find their rhythm, they were able to jump out to a large lead, that the young Bagley squad comprised of eight 8th graders, couldn’t come back from.
Mahnomen/Waubun had three players in double figures on Monday night in route to their win. They will move to 3-1 on the season and will get almost a week’s worth of practice to prepare for the Ada/Borup-West Cougars in their first home game this Friday night. The Bagley Flyers fall to 0-3 and will travel to Thief River Falls on Friday night.
