The Thompson Tommies showed why they are a top 10 team in the state, easily defeating Hillsboro-Central Valley 66-12 Saturday afternoon in Thompson. The Tommies got off to a hot start, opening the game on a 22-0 run enroute to a 27-3 lead after the first quarter, with Freshman Sydney Schwabe capping off the opening eight minutes hitting a buzzer beater three from the left corner. HCV struggled combating with the size advantage the Tommies had, getting out rebounded 2:1 during the game. While MacKenzie Hughes proved why she was First-Team All State last season scoring 13 first half points, while senior Olivia Dick connected on two first quarter three’s enroute to a game high 16 points.

Thompson improves to 7-0 and will return home Monday night to face Larimore. HCV drops to 0-7 and will host Park River/Fordville-Lankin Monday in Central Valley.
