Class B ND Girls’ Basketball: Larimore 60, Hillsboro-Central Valley 36
Larimore, ND — A tough opening week for the Hillsboro-Central Valley girls’ basketball squad comes to a close with the Burros’ third-straight loss, this time a 60-36 defeat to Larimore during Friday evening.
Hillsboro-Central Valley were down early to Larimore right out of the gates, as the Polar Bears started the game with an 11-0 run and 11-2 at the end of the first quarter. Larimore remained in control throughout the first half, forcing 11 HCV turnovers enroute to a 31-13 halftime lead.
Larimore junior guard Bethany Holter was electric from beyond the arc, hitting five 3-pointers that helped Holter lead her team with 26 points. Senior Larimore guard Gracie Cole scored 18.
The Burros saw senior forward Sydney Hennings score a team-high 12 points. Junior forward Stella Benson put up nine points with all of her scores coming in the third quarter.
Hillsboro-Central Valley (0-3) rests until Monday, welcoming Richland (1-2) to Hillsboro at 6 p.m. Larimore (1-1) continues its homestand on Monday with a matchup against Finley-Sharon-Hope-Page (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. in Larimore.
