The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons closed the first half on a 16-4 run to help lead them to the home win over the Fosston Greyhounds on Friday night. Freshman Caiden Swenby knocked down a three pointer right before halftime to give the Falcons a 32-20 lead heading into the break. Rylin Petry had a double double for the Falcons with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Swenby ended up with 15 points as Fertile-Beltrami improved to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the Pine to Prairie Conference. Aaron Norland led Fosston with 15 points as the Greyhounds fall to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The first half featured five ties before the Falcons went on their run. Lance Balstad scored 10 points and pulled down 7 rebounds for Fosston as the Greyhounds had their three game winning streak come to an end. The Falcons will return to action on Monday, January 25th when they travel to Ada-Borup/West to face the Cougars (106.5 FM & Your Live Event). The Greyhounds will also return to action on Monday, January 25th when they travel to Blackduck to face the Drakes. Fosston won the “B” Squad game over Fertile-Beltrami 54-40 with the Falcons winning the “C” Squad game over Fosston 49-21.
