Things were off to a rocky start for FSHP. The Spartans fell behind 12-3 against the Bison at one point in the first quarter, but thanks to a 16-7 run in the second period, FSHP found a clean slate to begin the second half. However, the Spartans weren’t out of the woods quite yet.
Barnes County North took a strong 36-29 lead in the middle of the fourth quarter, and it looked like the Bison were going to find their first win over FSHP since 2013. Zerface and the Spartans had other plans, ripping off a 12-4 run to take the lead for good.
Spartan sophomore center Jillian Larson scored a season-high eight points, six coming in the first quarter. Senior Marissa Mitchell scored six while sunior Beth Mehus scored five. Allison Stromsodt scored four points while freshman Esther Steinke rounded the scoring out with two points of her own.
