Bagley, MN — The Bagley Flyers dominated the Climax//Fisher Knights from start to finish in Boys Basketball on Friday night.
The Flyers relied on their transition offense early in the first half to jump out to a 12-0 lead. The Knights tried to claw their way back into it but couldn’t get over the hump as the Flyers pulled away and had the game in hand by the time the halftime break rolled around and the score was 37-16.
Kenly Gordon had a big second half for the Flyers scoring 17 of his team high 22 points. The Knights had another tough nigh overall turning the ball over and rebounding. Bagley out rebounded the Knights by a staggering deficit of 40-19 many of those rebounds being offensive and allowing the Flyers to convert on not only second chance points but sometimes three times in a possession.
The usual suspect, Dylan Evitts, lead the way in scoring for the Knights with a game high 27 points and also lead the team with 8 rebounds. The Knights also got some nice production off the bench from freshman Ryan Morris who had 10 points in the second half.
The Flyers get their first win of the season improving to 1-2 and will take on the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds next Tuesday at home. For Climax/Fisher, they fall to 0-4 and will go back home on Tuesday in search of their first win versus the NCE/U-H Titans.
