Aitkin City Council prepares to pass final Tax Levy, amend ordinances

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council will amend city ordinances and plans to adopt the 2022 Final Tax Levy and Budget & Tax Levy during their regular meeting from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room at 6pm Monday night.
The City of Aitkin is planning for a $1,664,943 total tax levy with a 21.5% increase from 2021.
The Council will also also be taking into consideration approving an amendment to Comprehensive Plan Map, and amendments to Official Zoning, Zoning code to allow Animal Husbandry in TR & UR Districts, and Code to allow Hen Chickens. Aitkin HS student Craig Visnovec will speak to the Council on City Park Trash Receptacles.
The Aitkin City Council meets at 6pm Monday night from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
