Fertile City Council News & Notes from October 11th Meeting
Fertile, MN — The Fertile City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, October 11th. After several months with an open seat, the council finally appointed an individual to that position this week. Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden says they welcomed Mary Keifert to the council.
The Fertile City Council this week had some discussion about potentially subscribing to an app service that would provide the city with another option for getting information out to the community. Administrator Liden notes there are some costs involved and are weighing their options.
Under the engineer’s report, the council examined some of the potential infrastructure projects that they may want to tackle in the future depending on funding sources. One of the projects that Liden felt would be of upmost importance would be to update their water meters citywide and their antiquated system for submitting readings.
And at the Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Liden notes that they are in a good position with staffing and COVID.
The Fertile City Council also approved the 2022 Liquor Licenses, approved the annual tax assessments, and approved a special park use request.
