Polk County, MN – Polk County Veterans Representative Kurt Ellefson gave an update about the Veterans Affairs office for the county on ‘Food for Thought.’ In the segment, Ellefson spoke about the recent Veterans Forum held at the American Legion in Bagley, Minnesota. With a large turnout, this event saw many people learn about the benefits they are eligible for as veterans or family members of veterans. One topic that Ellefson spoke about was burial rights for former military service members and their spouses.

Ellefson is available for consultation on other VA related topics every Wednesday at the Fosston Civic Center such as burial rights and referrals for healthcare. Referrals for care of veterans may take time to finalize as the pandemic has caused operations at offices to slow down. Appointments can be set up with Ellefson by calling (218) 280-5506.
