Oktoberfest this Sunday at Norman County Fairgrounds!
Ada, MN — Get a taste of Germany this Sunday, September 26th as part of the Oktoberfest meal at the Norman County Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Norman County Agricultural Society is continuing up their tradition of serving up smorgasbord of german sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, potato salad, dinner rolls, and delicious homemade desserts. Norman County Agricultural Society President Don Merkens says for years the Oktoberfest has been a great fundraiser for making improvements on the fairgrounds.
For the kids who may not be as interested in German flavors, a hot dog option is available. Also available again this year by popular demand, according to Merkens, is the drive-thru option.
Serving for this Sunday’s Oktoberfest will take place between 11am and 1pm, which leaves you plenty of time to get home for this Sunday’s Viking game, which doesn’t kick of until 3:30pm.
Another Norman County tradition that also usually takes place this weekend is the yearly return of Johnny Holm. Merkens says while they have returned to performing, there weren’t able to get a date scheduled this year.
Oktoberfest is this Sunday, September 26th from 11-1 at the Norman County Fairgrounds Coliseum. It is a free will donation. Listen to the full interview with Don Merkens below:
