Mahnomen City Council Appoints Kari Kirchbaum as New Administrator
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council officially hired their new City Administrator this week, and it’s a familiar face. Currently serving as the Interim City Administrator, the Mahnomen City Council offered the position to Kari Kirschbaum, who accepted the offer. The interim tag will be removed October 1st when her new contract takes over. Kirschbaum says she is very excited for the opportunity to take over as the full time Administrator and continuing on with the many great things going on in the city of Mahnomen.
In other news from this week’s Mahnomen City Council meeting, Administrator Kirschbaum says they heard from a local citizen who is interested in restarting Mahnomen Chamber of Commerce.
And the council held a public hearing for a resident seeking a Conditional Use Permit to install an outdoor wood boiler to heat their home. Kirschbaum notes that there was some opposition, but the council voted in favor of granting the CUP.
The Mahnomen City Council meets on the first and third Monday of each month.
