(Aitkin, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Aitkin Fisheries office will be holding an open house to collect public comments on Wednesday, October 6th from 12-4:30pm.
The open house will be held for proposed sunfish regulation changes for bodies of water in Aitkin County including Aitkin, Big Sandy, Davis (Steamboat), Flowage, Prairie River from confluence with Tamarack River downstream to confluence with Mississippi River, and West Savanna River from County Highway 14 downstream to Prairie.
The proposed special regulations would retain the reduced daily limit of sunfish of five fish, and apply the statewide possession limit. If adopted, the proposed special regulations would become effective in 2022.
If you are not able to make the open house on October 6th, comments can also be submitted by calling the Aitkin Fisheries office at 218-429-3010, by email, or take the online survey on the DNR’s website.
