City of Jenkins Gets Approved for Grants and More from September 13 Council Meeting
(JENKINS, MN) — The city of Jenkins held its first council meeting of the month of September on Monday, so as usual, we spoke with Mayor Jon Lubke to get the latest.
Lubke began by discussing a report he gave to the council from a seminar on salt use he attended with Crow Wing County Soil and Water.
Lubke provided an update to two grant applications that had previously been submitted from the city: they have been approved for grants of $132,000 and $20,000 from DEED and Sourcewell, respectively, and are currently looking into grants that will help with the aforementioned salt use.
The city of Jenkins will be setting its preliminary tax levy soon, and Lubke talked about what that is shaping up to look like.
We thank Mayor Lubke for his time. Our full conversation with him may be found below.
