Traill District Health Unit Hosting Flu Clinics this Friday in Hillsboro & Portland
Hillsboro, ND — With a potential Flu season approaching, Traill District Health Unit is offering a limited opportunity for community members to get their flu shot. There will be two flu shot clinics this Friday, one at the Hillsboro Armory from 9am until 11:30 and one at the Norseman Hall in Portland from 1pm until 3:30. The clinics are open to those over the age of 6 months. However, unlike previous years, Brenda Stallman of Traill District Health says these may be the only clinics they host this year, citing safety concerns related to COVID.
Masks will be required at the Flu shot clinics.
While last year the flu appeared to be almost non-existent, Stallman believes that with COVID mitigation efforts, such as social distancing and masking, no longer be required, the flu and many other viruses will almost certainly return.
The COVID situation has not improved recently in Traill County or throughout North Dakota either. Stallman says COVID-19 cases are higher than they were a year ago and will likely continue to surge.
The good news is that interest in the COVID-19 vaccination remains steady. The vaccination is still very widely available to those who are interested. Please contact Traill District Health Unit 701-636-4434 for more information.
