Homecoming Week at Hillsboro & Central Valley Schools
Hillsboro, ND — While their Minnesota counterparts are just getting started, it’s already Homecoming Week at the Hillsboro and Central Valley Schools across the river! Dress up days, tailgating, parades, coronation, and of course the big games are scheduled for this week, which they had to cram into four days instead of five with Labor Day on Monday. Hillsboro High School Principal Terry Baesler gave a preview of some of their Homecoming happenings going on this week during the Hillsboro School News on Tuesday.
Even though it’s a shorter week to celebrate Homecoming, Principal Baesler says they’ll take it after COVID impacted activities last year and a blizzard halted most of them the year before.
Central Valley has their own version of dress up days as well. Tuesday was Holiday Day, where students could wear their favorite holiday themed outfits. Today is Blackout Day, Thursday is Red Carpet Day, and Friday is Spirit Day.
There will also be a Tailgate Party from 5:30pm until 6:30pm at the Hillsboro Sports Complex. There will be food, games, prizes, and even Ohana Shaved Ice, who will be donating a portion of their proceeds back to the HCV Booster Club.
Coronation was held yesterday for both schools. The homecoming royalty will be recognized during halftime of this Friday’s football game against Northern Cass.
