Aitkin Schools not requiring masks, will continue COVID mitigation

(Aitkin, MN) — With the start of the Fall school year next week, we caught up with Aitkin Schools Superintendent Dan Stifter relating to COVID-19 mitigation measures, recommendations for faculty, families, and students during our regular conversation.
Stifter says Aitkin Public Schools will not be enforcing mask requirements.
Aitkin Public Schools will also be working on the COVID exposure and contact tracing with assistance from families.
Stifter also talked about distance learning not being mandated but rather conversations of getting work to students from teachers will be taking place.
In the event that learning plans have to be adjusted, Aitkin Public Schools will work with families that have broadband issues and students will have access to technology.
