Brainerd, MN — Brainerd Public Schools has instituted a districtwide mask mandate for the school year. We discussed with Superintendent Laine Larson and Assistant Superintendnent Heidi Hahn the decision the Board of Education made on August 25th.
Those mandates are for indoors. We asked about P.E. and also sports.
Superintendent Larson reiterated that classes will begin in-person, and the district hopes they remain so.
What would a quarantined student do away from school to keep up with classes?
There are COVID-19 testing kits available for staff; there may be testing available later this year for students.
There are exemptions for those who have needs that prevent them from wearing face coverings. Hahn discussed the exemptions, as well as the process.
