Ada Area Promotions Committee Hands Over Spec Building Keys to Barrick Family Farm
Ada, MN — The Ada Area Promotions Committee officially handed over the keys to their spec building to the Barrick Family Farm during a ceremony on Thursday afternoon. It was mostly ceremonial in nature, as Barrick has already moved in early to prepare their offices. Alex Barrick says the building crossed off not only their immediate needs for their company, but some of their wants as well.
It’s a big week for Barrick Family Farm. Not only are they officially owners of the AAPC building, but the first pigs will be moved into one of the barns in their main facility east of Lockhart.
The Ada Area Promotions Committee finished construction on the spec building, located in the Southwest Industrial Park, back in 2016 and had several promising tenants, but none ever panned out. Curt Jacobson, who spearheaded the project, says there were some ups and downs, but it was worth it in the end to help spur economic activity in Ada.
Also taking part in the ceremony was Zach Barrick, Ada City Administrator Ashley Larson and Ada Area Promotions Committee members Todd Sawrey, Mike Ganje, and Jim Birkemeyer. Listen to full interviews with Alex Barrick and Curt Jacobson below:
