Minnesota State Fair Gets Underway Thursday
Falcon Heights, MN — The Great Minnesota Get Together, or the Great Minnesota Get-Back Together as its being called this year, returns in mostly full force this Thursday, August 26th and runs through Labor Day at the State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights. Back is the delicious food and beverage, grandstand entertainment, livestock barns, hundreds of vendors, and free entertainment. What won’t be a part of this year’s Minnesota State Fair is a mask mandate. Danielle Dullinger, spokesperson for the State Fair, says a mask mandate would have been impossible to enforce, but they are strongly encouraging guests to mask up.
New foods this year include Bison Bites from Giggles Campfire Grill, Cracklin Prime Nachos from Coasters, Jumbo Donut Sundae, Nordic Waffles, and more than two dozen other delicious treats according to Dullinger.
Grandstand Entertainment this year includes Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, TLC, The Dobbie Brothers 50th Anniversary Tour, Tim McGraw, George Thorogood, and even an evening with movie star and musician Kevin Costner. However, there is plenty of free entertainment everyday at Minnesota State Fair includes hundreds of shows and musical acts.
For those attending the fair for the first time, it can be a bit overwhelming. Dullinger suggests bringing a good pair of walking shoes and don’t be concerned about seeing everything in a day.
Discounted tickets are still available for $13 until 9pm tonight (Wednesday). You can purchase them online, as well check out more information about this year’s state fair, at www.mnstatefair.org.
