Dr. David Taylor answers COVID-19, variant questions at HHS Meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Health and Human Services monthly meeting with the Board of Commissioners provided an update on the current climate of COVID-19 from the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.
Aitkin County Public Health Supervisor Erin Melz did open the meeting with an update on the COVID-19 case numbers from the past few months.
Riverwood Healthcare Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Taylor did address the Delta variant and how it affects those who have been vaccinated or have yet to receive a COVID vaccine.
After answering questions from the public as well as the Board, Dr. Taylor did say that COVID-19 and its variants will eventually have the same commonality as the flu.
HHS Director Cynthia Bennett did postpone her Director’s update until the September 28th meeting with the Board of Commissioners.
