Ironton City Council approves new Planning and Zoning members from August 18th meeting

(Ironton, MN) — The Ironton City Council approved new Planning and Zoning committee members and heard from a new Hospitality Committee during their regular meeting from Wednesday, August 18th from the City Hall Council Chambers.
The new members of the Planning and Zoning Committee were chosen one at a time from letters of interest gathered by the Council.
Barry Osborne from the DNR explained the process for a parking expansion project in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area.
The DNR plans to clear vegetation in the space of 10 car lengths to expand the lot currently, to which the Council is in full support of. resident Barb Risnes returned to discuss with the Council on her short-term rental application that was previously denied.
Courtney Condon from the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce presented to the Council a gambling permit request for the Cuyuna Crusher raffle this weekend.
A group of community business owners and residents came before the Council to inform them of the new “Ironton Hospitality” group.
The Ironton City Council will next meet on Wednesday, September 1st at 6pm.
