Fosston High School and Magelssen Elementary students will head back to school on Tuesday, September 7th for the 2021-2022 school year. Open house will be on Wednesday, September 1st from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at both the elementary and high school. 7th grade orientation is September 1st which will include a tour of the school and a mock schedule. A new class, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is on the 7th grade class list this year. Superintendent Sue Chase explains the class aims to give students the tools they need to be successful in high school.
Superintendent Chase welcomes new staff this year including a paraprofessional and a bus driver along with a recently retired English teacher who is taking on a new role.
The Fosston School District will be following CDC guidelines when it comes to wearing of masks and other safety recommendations to help prevent the spread of Covid and other illnesses. The CDC recommends wearing masks but does not require it and the Fosston School District will do the same. However, due to a federal mandate, masks must be worn while riding on school buses. Superintendent Chase says mitigation strategies that were put in place last year will be followed, especially in the elementary school.
