Twin Valley, MN — The Norman County East School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, August 16th. At the meeting, the Norman-Mahnomen Public Health Director and school board member Sarah Kjono presented on the latest data regarding COVID-19 positivity and vaccination rates in the county and district. Norman County East Superintendent Rob Nudell says they’ll continue to implement a number of COVID mitigation measures when school starts, but masks will not be required.

The school board also had some discussions regarding a vacancy in the elementary music department. Superintendent Nudell says they can fill the position without a hire if need be, but are still actively seeking a candidate.

And the district, like many others, is also need of bus drivers to help fill in for the regular route drivers and routes for activities.

With just a few weeks from the start of school, Nudell notes that staff and administration at NCE are working hard to get everything in order and ready for students.

A back-to-school open house at Norman County East has been set for Wednesday, September 1st.
