Growth Inevitable, but Hillsboro School Board Has Time to Plan
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday morning, August 17th. The board received presentations from ICON Architects in regards to their recent demographic study and facility planning. With the new Riverwalk Housing Development being constructed in the city, the school board wanted to get a better understanding on how much growth that could mean for the district and if they need to start thinking about how to accommodate their facilities for that potential growth. Hillsboro Superintendent Paula Suda noted that the district has been growing for awhile actually, but they won’t be rushing into building a new school just yet.
Superintendent Suda also updated the board this week on their budget, which will increase this year without an increase to the mils, and the board approved plan for spending of the ESSER funding.
And the board got an update on the district’s Safe Learning plan with school getting underway next week.
There were a number of new hires at this week’s meeting as well. Superintendent Suda provided an update on staffing.
