City of Halstad Holds Public Forum to Discuss Future Options for Recently Acquired School
Halstad, MN — The Halstad City Council held a community forum on Wednesday night this week to discuss potential futures for the now city-owned school building. A couple of interested community organizations who may have a vested interest in the building, such as the Halstad Business League and Halstad EDA, took part in the town hall style meeting as well. Jeremy Melting, President of the Halstad Busines League, says the goal of the city is to make use of the newest and most desirable portions of the building first.
There were a number of other unique ideas thrown around for both the building and surrounding green space, some high and some likely low on the priority list. Melting says some of those including RV park, dog park, office space, and a greenhouse.
Melting added that the meeting was an overall positive experience.
Also of note, the Halstad Business League will be hosting their annual Make Halstad Home Plate event next Thursday, August 12th at 5pm at the East Park. More on that next week on R & J News.
