Baxter Mayor Recaps Night to Unite, August 4 Council Meeting
(BAXTER, MN) — The city of Baxter held its first council meeting of the month of August on Wednesday, so we spoke with Mayor Darrel Olson to get caught up.
The meeting was a day later than usual to account for the city’s annual “Night to Unite” event that took place Tuesday evening. Olson said that the event was a resounding success.
He moved on to the council meeting from Wednesday and began with some miscellaneous business, including the approval of new storage facilities and the selection of two test sites for “micro surfacing” roads in the city.
The city is also in the process of addressing some water issues in between Inglewood and Highway 371 by putting in a drainage ditch, which Olson said is starting to come together.
Finally, Olson provided an update on the current state of water rationing in the area.
We thank Mayor Olson for his time. The next regular council meeting for the city of Baxter is scheduled for August 17. Our full conversation with Olson may be found below.
