Upcoming Deadlines with FSA’s Livestock Forage Program
By: Mary Balstad firstname.lastname@example.org
Polk County, MN – Nathan Peterson gave the weekly FSA Report on Thursday, August 5th. The main topic of conversation was the Livestock Forage Program (LFP). This drought program is specifically for pasture acres that triggers any time a county is rated as D2 drought for 8 consecutive weeks or as a D3 drought at any point during the established grazing period. In order for producers to be eligible for the program, acreage must have been reported by July 15th. Late file acreage reports can be complete for those who have missed the deadline by calling their local FSA office. Peterson outlines the requirements for applying for the LFP.
