(Crosby, MN) — Legal battles or public outcry did not spell the end of Jim Hunter’s most recent term as Mayor for the City of Crosby, Minnesota. During a special Crosby City Council meeting Monday, August 2nd, Hunter did present his letter of resignation to the Council citing “health concerns”.
In our chat with Council member Chris Ryan, he mentioned that Hunter’s resignation comes as a shock and a loss for Crosby residents.
City Administrator Matthew Hill spoke about the next steps following the letter being presented to the Council all the way to finding an interim mayor and new Council member.
The Crosby City Council will review the next steps at their August 9th meeting. The interim Crosby Mayor will serve out Hunter’s term which ends at the end of 2022.
R&J Broadcasting, Inc has reached out to Jim Hunter for official comment but he was not immediately available.
