(Aitkin, MN) — After missing last year’s annual event that raises funds for veterans in the Aitkin Community, the Strength and Honor Lift-A-Thon picked up right where they left off with adding another $9,000 from the two-days of lifting and fundraising.
R&J Broadcasting, Inc was on hand for the two nights and spoke with coaches, athletes, and veterans that directly benefited from not only the event but all the strength and agility program that has been instrumental for recent Aitkin High School Sports success.
Former Aitkin athlete and now coach Nathan Ehnstrom spoke about how the program has grown since inception when he was still sporting Gobbler colors.
Ehnstrom also highlighted the speed and agility portion of the program offers its own rewards.
Longtime event organizer for the Lift-A-Thon Jon Cline spoke about how the funds from the event greatly benefit in rotating years with the Aitkin American Legion and Aitkin VFW.
Gobbler Baseball coach Jeremy Janzen was a front row witness to the success from the weightlifting and speed work for a record-breaking year.
