Aitkin City Council to meet August 2nd

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council will be reviewing special event permits and open discussion on City Park ordinances during their first August meeting tonight from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room.
The Council will be looking to approve a Special Event Permit for the 2021 Riverboat Street Dance and a Proclamation Recognizing National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
City Administrator Roce Beverly will be going over with the Council a resolution for agreements for Joint Powers Agreement with the City Attorney and Police Department. Talks will also take place for Court Data Services Subscriber Amendment to CIDN Subscriber Agreement, City Park Nuisances, ATV, and Park Curfew.
Old Business will revisit past talks and actions for purchasing Security Cameras for the City Park and an update on the Liquor Store Policy of being 21 years old to enter will also be talked upon.
The Council will also be looking into a possible grant to study EATV Routes for Slow Moving Vehicles for Seniors, reviewing a 9/11 Event Permit for the Aitkin Fire Department and a Conditional Use Permit for Jenn Farenholtz.
Public Comments will also have residents from Blackrock Road with talks on possible speed limit changes and signs.
The Aitkin City Council meets at 6pm tonight from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room.
