Fosston, MN – As the calendar flips from July to August, high schools sports are getting ready to start up. Both coaches and athletes are looking forward to a year of excitement from teammates and fans. But before the students hit the practice field, they have to to go the doctor’s office first for a mandatory physical exam. Physician Assistant Grant Coauette from Essentia Health spoke about the importance of a sports physical on ‘Food for Thought.’
Since many practices will start in two to three weeks, Coauette encourages parents to try to get their child in for a physical as soon as possible. Coauette explains the process of a physical and what information to fill out on the form provided by the Minnesota High School League.
Essentia Health has made scheduling appointments easy through the MyChart App. Appointments can also be made by calling Essentia’s clinic at (218) 435-1212.
