McGregor School Board holds off awarding Bus Storage bids, discusses school policies

(McGregor, MN) — The McGregor School Board reviewed annual updates before the beginning of the 2021-22 school on Monday, July 30th from the High School Library.
The Board did approve reaffirmations of designated polling places, official school medical center, depository, school attorney substitute rate of pay, and policies. Donations were also accepted from Shamrock Township totaling $1,500 and $500 from the Tamarack Sno-Flyers.
High School Principal Bob Staska spoke to the Board about the policy concerning caps in school.
Both of the Elementary and High School Handbooks were approved by the Board. Discussion also took a look at the 10-year Long Term Facilities Maintenance Application and Statement of Assurances.
The Board did approve that 10-year plan. Approval was also given for the retirement for bus driver Joe Pierce, and the contracts for Shauna dalchow as Business Manager, Michael Gauthier as Transportation Supervisor, Michelle Gauthier as Administrative Secretary/Payroll Clerk/Benefits Manager, Jack Brula as Technology Coordinator, Lindsey Becker as Early Childhood Coordinator, and Gretchen Polkinghorne as School Counselor.
Superintendent Brad Johnson reviewed the bids, on behalf of Nexus, for the Bus Storage project.
Awarding the bids for the project was table until the August 23rd meeting. The Board did also approve the activity prices and food service prices for the 2021-22 school year. Johnson did also mention that the Building Referendum Project will be moving forward this fall.
The McGregor School Board will have a Work Session meeting on Monday, August 9th at 6pm.
