City of Mahnomen Receives Grants for City Hall & Library Updates; Approves Variance for Downtown Housing Project
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council accepted one grant and approved agreements for two others for the purpose of updates to City Hall and Mahnomen Library at their most recent monthly meeting on Monday, July 19th. Altogether the grants would add up to approximately $90,000 and will help with a variety of improvements and updates, according to City of Mahnomen Interim City Administrator Kari Kirschbaum.
Meanwhile progress continues to be made on the Mahnomen Fire Hall renovation. Kirschbaum says there is hope they can return the trucks back to the building soon.
Estimated completion date for the Fire Hall is sometime in December.
Also at this month’s meeting, the Mahnomen City Council approved a variance to remodel a commercial structure in downtown Mahnomen into a multi-family housing unit.
And the City of Mahnomen is in the beginning stages of drafting a Safe Routes to School Plan and update walkways throughout town, according to Kirschbaum.
The Mahnomen City Council is scheduled to meet next on Monday, August 2nd.
