Grand Forks, ND – “Where hope begins.” This tagline is the motto of Northlands Rescue Mission in Grand Forks, North Dakota. To the many homeless and struggling population the mission serves, it is a fitting one. Communications Coordinator of Northlands Rescue Mission Matt Collings was on the ‘Food for Thought’ program to talk about an upcoming fundraiser on September 18th. Collings explains the “Home Run” event and its main goal.
Assisting in housing the homeless is only one of many services Northlands Rescue Mission provides. Collings elaborates on the variety of help and hope the mission gives.
Northlands Rescue Mission invites people of all ages and expertise to sign-up. For more casual runners, there is the 5K Run/Walk. More experienced sports enthusiasts are encouraged to register for the 25-Mile Bike Race. The 100K Bike Ride is a virtual event only, meaning participants must complete their own course beforehand and send in times to email@example.com. Registration for the event can be completed online or in-person the day of the fundraiser. After the running and biking, a lunch will be served and an awards ceremony will be held. The mission aims to continue to assist those heavily affected by homelessness and the pandemic.
