Gov. Walz Visits Nisswa

Nisswa, MN –Thursday marked a stop for Governor Tim Walz to Nisswa Elementary as part of his Statewide Education Tour to highlight the historic education investments included in Minnesota’s COVID-19 Recovery Budget.
The governor opened by explaining why he was in the area and on his tour.
It took collaboration to move forward through the pandemic.
The COVID-19 Recovery Budget includes $1.2 billion for education over four years, including the largest formula increase in 15 years.
Walz arrived also with commissioner of education Heather Mueller, who touched on efforts Minnesota is making to ensure more than the minimum.
Brainerd Public Schools Superintendent Laine Larson spoke of the change of her wondering over technology the past year plus.
Governor Walz then cautioned that while , he wants to see kids in school doing what children should do, we’re not out of the woods with COVID-19.
