Crosby City Council approves Hallett Center contracts, new laborer at July 12th meeting

(Crosby, MN) — The Crosby City Council reviewed agreements and contracts for the Hallett Community Center during their regular meeting Monday night from the City Hall Council Chamber.
The Council did approve an invoice to the Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce for services rendered per agreement, the 2021 fee schedule, the price increase for a second water meter, and advertising to obtain letters of interest for the Bike/Community Committee.
Hallett Center General Manager Ivan Bartha spoke to the Council on approving the high School Hockey Contract for 2021-2022.
Bartha also brought forth a resolution of approving additional costs for the new Fire Alarm System.
Bartha also mentioned in his Department Report that the Sauna at the Hallett Center will be reopened. Originally in the consent agenda, approval for hiring Nick Gravdahl as new Public Works Laborer was pulled and was discussed, led by City Administrator Matthew Hill.
Councilmember Paul Heglund voiced his concern on another hiring and its impact on City finances.
The Council went on to approve a motion to hire 6 new firefighters for the Crosby Fire Department pending paperwork and physicals of applicants.
The Crosby City Council will next meet on Monday, July 26th at 6pm.
