(Aitkin, MN) — After a one year absence, the yearly high-school staple of the Aitkin Lift-A-Thon returns with the culmination of summer work being a fundraiser for local veterans to lend a much-needed helping hand and thank you for their sacrifice and service.
We recently chatted with Lift-A-Thon organizer Rob Williams, during our monthly veterans conversation, about the origins of how the strength and conditioning program became such an integral part of Aitkin high school athletes.
The Lift-A-Thon event has also taken on a life of its own in recent years.
Over the past year with Aitkin’s success in multiple sports, the results from the program speak for themselves.
Participants in the Lift-A-Thon will also be hitting the streets in the coming days for businesses to be able to donate to the Aitkin American Legion Post #86.
The public is also available to attend the Lift-A-Thon coming up at the end of July.
