Events ramp up at Aitkin County Fair Thursday

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Fair rolls on into its second day as events and activity ramp up at the Fairgrounds in Aitkin.
Today, Artist in Residence and Live Music will highlight the day in the Creative Activities Building. Painter Karen Newton will hold live demonstrations from 10am-2pm. Bread Judging will also take place at noon will Pickle Judging at 6pm and Live Music from Christian McShane at 7pm. In the Watters Pavilion there will be performances from “Rince Na Chroi” Irish Dancers at 12, 1, and 2pm, Wood Picks will also be there at 3, 4, and 5pm.
Other activities will feature the Fun & Games Horse Show at 12pm from the Horse Arena and the Kids PEdal Tractor Pull starting with registration at 5pm and first runs starting at 6pm.
The Grandstand will have the Hobby/Pure Stock, Mod 4’s, Compacts/Hornets, and School Bus Races with pits opening at 4:30pm on Friday, July 9th. 4-H Activities will take place throughout the Blue Ribbon Auction on Friday and the Central Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association 4-H/FFA Beef Show on Saturday, July 10th.
Gate Admission is free with parking at $5 per day on the Aitkin County Fairgrounds in Aitkin.
R&J Broadcasting, Inc will be present throughout the week at the Aitkin County Fair with live interviews, giveaways, and our Hoop Shoot which will give people three chances to make a basket to win a pop for one dollar. Proceeds from the Hoop Shoot will go towards a local food shelf.
