Ada City Council News & Notes from July 6th Meeting
Ada, MN — The Ada City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night at Council Chambers as well as a special public hearing prior just prior to the regular meeting. The public hearing was in regards to financial losses that the municipal liquor store had in 2018 and 2019. Ada City Administrator Ashley Larson says those losses were anticipated and the liquor store is back on track.
The council was also presented with their 2020 financial audit at their regular meeting from Brady Martz & Associates. Larson says overall the city is in fine financial shape.
One of the hot topics discussed at the meeting again this month was trying to find a solution between the Ada Fire Department and Ada Police Department in regards to storage needs for the police department. Administrator Larson says it took some hashing out, but they are hopeful that there may be some compromise between the two agencies.
And the city approved a permit request from a private individual who plans to host a street dance later this month. Larson says the council agreed to the permit dependent on a deposit to help cover damages if needed.
The Ada City Council also approved a Change Order and Final Pay Request from Moore Engineering for the lift station project, approved a $300 Eagle Scout project donation, approved street repair bids, and approved moving next month’s meeting to August 10th as to not conflict with National Night Out.
Councilmembers Mike Nelson and Shawn Roux and scheduled to join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program on Thursday to further recap this week’s meeting.
