Polk County Fair Hanson Memorial Free Stage Preview

Fertile, MN — You’ll get more than your money’s worth at the Hanson Memorial Free Stage at this year’s Polk County Fair. Country music, kids shows, dancing, 4-H demonstrations, classic rock, and even YOU can take the stage during the fair.

The Hanson Memorial Free Stage opens on Wednesday with the Chocolate Contest at 7pm and Karaoke at 8pm. Thursday, July 8th the 4-H will share their demonstrations and performing arts talents from 10am until 4pm. Then on Thursday night, it’s your turn to show off your talents. Dan Grunhovd says as always, they anticipate some top-end talent for the Talent Show, which begins at 7pm.

The Talent Show will feature separate divisions for pre-teens, teens, and adults. Full details are available on the Polk County Fair website.

On Friday, Sherwin Linton will provide performances at 1pm, 2:15pm, and 3:30. Enjoy comedy hypnotist Kate Escape at 5 and 7pm and country music from northern Minnesota duo the Jensen Sisters at 6 and 8pm.

Saturday the free stage “kicks” off with the dance group, The Lords Army, at noon followed by Trisha & the Toonies Family Fun Show at 1 and 2pm. A quick break from the arts with the 4-H dress review and Century Farms presentation at 3pm and 3:45 respectively.  The Snowmen and Dueling Pianos will provide entertainment and music to wrap up Saturday.

On Sunday, the 4-H will have their Awards presentation at Noon. Children music by the Dollipops are scheduled to perform at 4pm and 6pm with Lois and Lois performing in-between at 5pm. Local classic rock favorites 4-Wheel Drive will cap off the fair on the free stage at 7pm on Sunday.

The Christian Fellowship Tent will also provide a full line-up of musical acts throughout the Polk County Fair. Grunhovd says there’s no shortage of music at the fair.
