Aitkin Police Chief Paul Ryan talks new officers, construction impact on traffic
By Paul Vold email@example.com (7/5/21)
(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin Police Department continues to be ready and is now more than prepared for summer events and activity after recently talking with Chief Paul Ryan in our monthly conversation.
Chief Ryan noted that Highway 210 construction work will play a factor into traffic coming to and from Aitkin.
That traffic will pick up after the Aitkin County Fair, running July 7-10, but patrols of officers will be split between the City and the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
Being able to patrol the Fair or say hello to is a nice luxury after more hirings to the Police Department.
Chief Ryan also noted that his officers are still patrolling their 12-hour shifts while also keeping up on crime.
Scams also continue to be a concern this summer.
