Double Check Your Load & Slow Down in Lakes Areas this Holiday Weekend
Minnesota — Anytime now through Monday, don’t expect to be able to travel normal speeds if you’re driving through any of the lakes areas. Whether you are traveling 113 east of Waubun, Highway 34, Highway 10, or Highway 2, Law enforcement is asking that you slow down and be patient when traveling through those high traffic areas. Jesse Grabow with the Minnesota State Patrol says there’s no need to turn a holiday into a tragedy, so slow down and pay attention.
And if you happen to be hauling a boat, camper, or just a pickup box full of tubes or kayaks, Grabow asks that you check and double check your load before taking off.
The good news is that there will be very little road construction delays this Independence Day weekend. However, Highway 2 between Highway 32 and Erskine is reduced to one lane in both directions and speed limits are reduced. Starting July 12th, Highway 200 between Roy Lake and Zerkel will be closed for road construction.
