Chevy Tahoe Becomes Vehicle of Choice for Local Law Enforcement
Ada, MN — At one point it seemed every law enforcement vehicle was a Crown Victoria. Then the next vehicle of choice became either the Ford Taurus or Ford Explorer SUV. Now the choice of local law enforcement appears to be the full-size Chevy Tahoe with both the Norman County Sheriff’s Office and Ada Police Department making the switch in recent weeks. Norman County Sheriff Jeremy Thornton says their new fleet of Tahoes should be hitting the streets any day now with a new styling package as well.
For the Norman County Sheriff’s Office who spends a lot of their time patrolling the rural regions of the county, Thornton says the full sized, 4-wheel drive Tahoe provides a huge advantage over the mid-sized, All-Wheel Drive Explorer.
Ada Police Chief Jody Bueng echoed a similar statement about their Tahoe, which has been in service for the city for a couple weeks now.
The Norman County Sheriff’s also has a pair of full size Chevy Pickups in their fleet of vehicles as well.
