Essentia Health to Host Upcoming Women’s Health Blitz

Fosston, MN — The past year has taught many people the importance of personal health and wellness. Essentia Health aims to continues this awareness by hosting the upcoming Women’s Health Blitz on June 18th. Dr. Cheryl White discussed the need to hold this event and to emphasized the importance of routine screenings, pap smears, mammography and answers about women’s health. Dr. White claims that due to busy schedules, those who can benefit from these tests may delay setting up these appointments. That is why Essentia decided to host the health blitz for anyone who has not had their recommended screenings. Dr. White explains the significant of preventative medicine and exams.
It is recommended to get pap smears starting at 21 and have one every 3 years as long as the pap smear results are normal. At 30 and older, this exam can be had every 5 years. Mammograms usually start at age 50 and go until age 75. Dr. White then explains the value of why these tests are highly recommended.
The Women’s Health Blitz will take place on Friday, June 18th during clinic hours from 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The visit with Dr. Cheryl White is no-charge and the pap smear will be billed to insurance. If there is time in the day, make sure to call in and schedule a screening to (218) 435-1212.
