Hendrum, MN — We’re down to the final few days of class for the Norman County West School, not just for the year but for good. Norman County West and Ada-Borup will join forces to become Ada-Borup West starting July 1st, marking the end of the Panther era for the Halstad, Hendrum, and Perley communities. Norman County West Phy-Ed instructor Dan Jorgenson has been teaching with the district for more than 25 years. He says he’s deeply connected to the district and it’ll be tough to see it go.

Jorgenson is planning to continue teaching in the new district. On the flipside, Norman County West Principal Deanne Flom’s last year in the district is also her first. Despite that she understands how special and connected the West community is to their school and it’s slowly starting to set in that it’s all coming to an end soon.

The final day of class for Norman County West is this Friday, and Principal Flom says they are planning to send the students off in a big way.

A 5th grade graduation is also planned for Friday morning at 10am.
