Mahnomen, MN — Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg announced he would be stepping down from his position later this summer to take a role at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Berg submitted his resignation at the Mahnomen City council meeting on Monday night, May 17th and announced that he will take over as the new Associate Director of the Veden Center for Rural Engagement & Economic Development in June, but will continue to work with the city until July. Berg says in his new role, he’ll be doing many of the same things he does now, but on a larger scale.

As the city of Mahnomen is currently working on a number of long-term project and grant requests, Berg says he will continue to assist the city of Mahnomen and the future interim and full time Administrator with the transition process.

The Mahnomen City Council plans to interview a candidate for the Interim City Administrator position next Tuesday, May 25th.
