Ulen-Hitterdal Approves Architect Contract for Design & Planning of Potential Day Care
Ulen, MN –The Ulen-Hitterdal School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 12th where they approved a contract with ZERR-BERG Architects to provide preliminary planning and programming for a new Day Care Center. Preliminary estimates for the proposed pod-based Day Care is around $1.1 million. Ulen-Hitterdal Superintendent says they should know by August if the board wants to proceed with a referendum to pay for the project.
Cameron says there is a definite need for daycare in the community and more and more families will be moving into town with the City of Ulen’s housing developments filling up fast, as well as property tax incentives that will bring more people into the district. Superintendent Cameron talks more about the pod style set up and the potential impact for voters if they move forward.
The Ulen-Hitterdal School Board also approved revisions for this year’s budget and also reviewed the budget for the upcoming 2021-2022 year. Cameron says they had to make adjustments accommodate for the one-time Federal funds they received.
And Cameron provided an update on some of the activities happening at the Ulen-Hitterdal school currently.
