Free Lunch Program Continuing for All Students Next Year
Ada, MN — It appears all students will once again be able to receive free lunches for the coming 2021-2022 school year, according to Ada-Borup Superintendent Aaron Cook. Cook says school districts will have the opportunity to participate in a Federal program, similar to the one they participated in last year, that will provide free lunch and breakfast to anyone regardless of income.
Prior to the pandemic, families would be required to apply for free and reduced lunch applications to receive free or lower cost school meals. Those applications also play a large factor in additional school funding. Cook says they will strongly be pushing for families to fill out those forms again this year and may even look to possible incentives for doing so.
