UPDATE: Person Found Dead at Hendrum House Fire

Hendrum, MN — On Friday, April 23rd at 11:37pm, the Norman County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible house fire. The caller reported that they could see smoke coming from the rood of the residence located at 327 Rice Street in Hendrum, MN. Firefighters from Hendrum, Halstad, Perley, Shelly, Ada, and Borup along with the Halstad Rescue and Norman County Ambulance were dispatched to the location. The Norman County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with the incident.

During the investigation, the body of a 66 year old male was located deceased at the residence. The decadent was transported to the Norman County Medical Examiner, located at the UND Forensic Pathology in Grand Forks. The Norman County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office continue to investigate the incident.

At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
