Jenkins Mayor Talks Broadband, American Rescue Plan, and More from April 12 Council Meeting
(JENKINS, MN) — The city of Jenkins held its latest regular council meeting on Monday, April 12. We spoke with Mayor Jon Lubke to hear about what was discussed and what to expect.
First, Lubke mentioned that the city heard from a representative from the local Diamond Club Baseball League, and the council agreed to a proposal that will see the baseball field in Jenkins get used for a longer period of time.
The city also discussed their broadband initiative, in which the city of Jenkins has joined a coalition of area cities and townships dedicated to bringing more broadband to the area.
The survey for the area is still live and can be accessed here.
Finally, Lubke mentioned that the council talked about the American Rescue Plan, and the possibility of pooling their funds with Crow Wing County when those funds are distributed.
We thank Mayor Lubke for his time. Our full conversation with him can be found below.
